Actress Apu Biswas inaugurated the first showroom of the new fashion house, Rong Polli, located on the ground floor of Rapa Plaza, Dhanmondi. This fashion house specializes in traditional Bangladeshi sarees such as Dhakai Jamdani, Sylhet Manipuri, Rajshahi silk, and Tangail loom sarees, each featuring unique designs that celebrate Bangladeshi heritage.
The grand opening event took place on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11 AM and was attended by prominent figures, including presenter Barisha Haque and the four co-founders of Rong Polli—Nusrat Jahan Nipa, Mohammad Moktar Hossain, Mohammad Aminur Rahman, and Mohammad Shahjahan Sohail. Actress Apu Biswas emphasized that Rong Polli is a trustworthy brand for authentic Bangladeshi sarees, with a growing presence on Facebook and YouTube. To celebrate the showroom launch, Rong Polli offered a flat 20% discount on all sarees for three days, from February 10 to February 12, drawing in fashion lovers from across Dhaka.
Mohammad Moktar Hossain, one of the co-founders, reflected on the journey of Rong Polli, which began four years ago with a shared dream to promote local sarees. Today, Rong Polli has become a household name, offering consumers a wide variety of high-quality Bengali sarees that break cultural and fashion barriers. With its first showroom in Dhanmondi, Rong Polli is set to expand its reach, offering handcrafted sarees that represent the rich tradition of Bangladesh.
